Looking To Get Rid Of That Pooch?
Part 1: Understanding The Basics
Ah, the dreaded "pooch". Its a question that I get a lot, and one that's probably been had around the world. Unfortunately, there are a lot of misconceptions about how to get rid of it. One of the main ones, is that you can spot burn the fat by working the abdominal muscles under and around it. We as humans, are not capable of "spot burning" fat. This means that if you have a trouble area on your body that tends to hold more fat, you cannot reduce the fat in that specific area by training the muscle under it. We all have a genetic code, which tells our body, where we hold more fat, and in what order we will lose it. This is why one person that starts a weight loss program may tend to lose fat around the waist first and arms last, while the next person may lose it around the arms first and waist last. Its all genetic, just like the color of your eyes, we cant change it. So if your like the rest of us, and do not tend to lose it in the area you'd like, you're not doomed!
